While the solar eclipse that occurred earlier this month amazed several thousand people in its path of totality, experiencing it in flight is another level of astonishment. Simple Flying covered the epic event, which will not happen in the US for another 20 years. As it created an influx of passengers at some airports and ground stops at others, only a select few were lucky enough to see the moon cover the sun at cruising altitude. This years experience, however, does not come close to what some people witnessed more than five decades ago.
