That is despite the much newer and more fuel-efficient A321LR and 737 MAX, a sign of the economic and technological change. According to OAG data, the 757 (whether the -200 or -300) had a typical 27 daily roundtrip long-haul flights in 2023, based on averaging it throughout the year.
