How AENA Plans To Improve One Of Brazil’s Most Congested Airports: Sao Paulo Congonhas

Avionics

São Paulo’s Congonhas airport is one of the most congested airports in Brazil. With a short runway and an extremely intense traffic flow, authorities have long sought solutions to improve operations at the small airport, which is located in the middle of the city. During the administration of the former president, Jair Bolsonaro, the federal government began auctioning operational rights to several airports and highways in Brazil. Congonhas was one of the airports, formerly run by INFRAERO (a government agency), and AENA won the auction, eventually taking over operations last October.
