Geopolitics and posturing often bring brinkmanship and this is true of the ongoing Full-Scale Russian Invasion of Ukraine. Russia desperately wants to keep Western countries out of the war and cannot afford to fight Western powers as well. At the same time, the West wishes to support Ukraine but does not want to become embroiled in a war with Russia. This has led to Western powers like the United Kingdom operating intelligence-gathering flights inside international airspace over the Black Sea in support of Ukraine.
