Irish national flag carrier Aer Lingus has just celebrated the launch of its first direct flight from Manchester to the holiday destination city of Orlando in sunny Florida. In a company statement released on December 11, 2021, the IAG-owned airline said that Aer Lingus flight number EI 35 had completed its inaugural flight between Manchester and Orlando.

Photo: Aer LingusAer Lingus flight number EI 35 departed Manchester Airport (MAN) at 11:19 GMT and landed at Orlando International Airport (MCO) at 15:50 EST following an uneventful, nearly nine-hour flight. The return flight EI 34 leaves at Orlando at 19:00 EST and arrives back in Manchester at 08:35 GMT.
Aer Lingus is using an Airbus A330-200 for the Orlando flights
On the route, Aer Lingus has deployed a 271 seat Airbus A330-200. The aircraft features two classes of service, with 23 lie-flat seats in business class and 248 seats in economy class. The distance between Manchester and Orlando is 4,236 miles (6,817 km) and takes around nine hours; the return flight to Manchester EI 34 is quicker thanks to the jet stream.

The Manchester to Orlando route is the third direct flight to the Caribbean and United States launched by the Dublin Airport (DUB)-based airline following flights to Barbados on October 20 and New York JFK on December 1.

All flights will depart Manchester Airport at 11:00 and have prices starting from £209 ($277).

In a statement published on December 8, 2020, the Irish airline announced that it was expanding its codeshare agreement with JetBlue. As a part of the new bilateral agreement, JetBlue will place its “B6” code on four Aer Lingus routes between the American northeast and Ireland
